The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier institute
dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. It was established in 2006 by the
Ministry of Human Resource Development (renamed Ministry of Education in August 2020).
In 2012, IISER Pune was declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of
Parliament.
Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following post purely on temporary
and contractual basis:

Preference Candidates having following will be preferred -
1. Experience in working with yeasts is essential. Please
highlight the same in the application.
2. Experience in genetics, molecular cell biology and
biochemistry techniques is a must.
3. Wet lab experience during Master’s thesis.
4. Experience with Mass Spectrometry.
5. Experience in projects related to DNA repair, epigenetics
and chromosomal biology.
6. Qualified national level exam (like: NET / GATE etc)
Job
requirement
Incumbent is expected to do following:
• Assist in ongoing experiments using yeast as a model to
perform genetic screens and assays.
• Help establish the mammalian cell culturing system in
the laboratory along with the PI.
• Conduct research investigating the molecular
mechanisms of how cohesin complexes are loaded on
the chromosomes in both yeast and human cancer cells.
Tenure
of the appointment
For a period of one year extendable for further period
subject to continuation of the project and satisfactory
performance of the incumbent.
Consolidated emoluments
per month
Rs. 30,000/- + 30% House Rent Allowance
Rs. 37,000/- + 30% House Rent Allowance
Applicant should have valid CSIR-NET (Life Sciences) /
GATE (Life Sciences) / CSIR-JRF / DBT-JRF / any other
National Level Test conducted by Central Government
Departments and their agencies OR equivalent scorecard.

Age relaxation commensurate with educational
qualification/s and / or experience/s of the applicant may be
considered for candidates having qualification and
experience higher than the advertised with the prior
approval of the competent authority.
