Applications are invited for the following posts purely on contractual basis in ICAR – Indian
Institute of Millets Research (IIMR), Hyderabad – 500030 through a Walk-In-Interview on
5th August, 2026 at 10.30 AM.

Position Name Senior Project Associate – I
Project Title Development of millet-derived specialty ingredients for smart
protein products through novel approaches (DST)
Emoluments (per
month)
Rs 42,000/- + HRA as per Government of India/DST guidelines.
Project duration 2 years (Project ends by April 2028)
Tenure Till 31.03.2027 and further extendable based on performance of the
candidate and funding of the project.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Master's Degree in Biochemistry (specializing in Plant Science) / Food Science and
Technology / Food Technology / Food Science / Food Processing Technology /
Food Chemistry / Food Science and Nutrition or an equivalent relevant discipline
from a recognized University/Institute
Minimum four (04) years of Research & Development (R&D) experience in
Industrial or Academic Institutions or Science & Technology Organizations or
Scientific activities and services, as per DST guidelines
(OR)
Doctoral Degree in Biochemistry (specializing in Plant Science) / Food Science and
Technology / Food Technology / Food Science / Food Processing Technology /
Food Chemistry / Food Science and Nutrition or an equivalent relevant discipline
from a recognized University/Institute.
Desirable Qualifications:
Research experience in plant-based food product development.
Experience in extraction, characterization, and functional evaluation of plant
proteins.
Experience in food processing, process optimization, quality analysis, sensory, and
shelf-life evaluation.
Knowledge of food quality and safety standards, statistical data analysis, and
scientific report writing.
Publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or work experience in externally funded
research projects is preferred
Age Limit:
Maximum 40 years as on the date of Interview. Age relaxation will be applicable as
per Government of India/DST guidelines.
2. Position Name Project Associate – II (01 Post)
Project Title Development of millet-derived specialty ingredients for smart
protein products through novel approaches (DST)
Emoluments (per
month)
(i) Rs 35,000/- + HRA as per Government of India/DST guidelines
to scholars who are qualified for CSIR-UGC NET including
lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE.
(ii) Rs 28,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.
Project duration 2 years (Project ends by April 2028)
Tenure Till 31.03.2027 and further extendable based on performance
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Master's Degree in Food Science and Technology / Food Technology / Food Science
/ Food Processing Technology / Food Chemistry / Food Science and Nutrition / PostHarvest Technology / or an equivalent relevant discipline from a recognized
University/Institute.
Minimum two (02) years of Research & Development (R&D) experience in Industrial
or Academic Institutions or Science & Technology Organizations or Scientific
activities and services, as per DST guidelines.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in millet-based and plant-based food product development.
Experience in extraction, characterization, and functional evaluation of plant proteins.
Experience in food processing, process optimization, quality evaluation, sensory
analysis, and shelf-life studies.
Knowledge of food quality and safety standards, statistical data analysis, and scientific
report writing.
Publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or experience in handling externally
funded research projects will be an added advantage.
Age Limit:
Maximum 35 years as on the date of Interview. Age relaxation will be applicable as per
Government of India/DST guidelines.
