FACULTY POSITION
Department of Biotherapeutics Research (DBR), is a premier interdisciplinary research hub under the Manipal
Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, India is engaged in translational research and innovation in
the development of biotherapeutics, including cell, gene, protein, 3D bioprinting, and nano/biomaterialsbased therapies. Our mission is to advance cutting-edge biotherapeutic strategies in collaboration with global
biopharma industries.
We are seeking outstanding and motivated candidates for the position of Associate Professor in Cancer
Immunology, with a proven track record in high-impact research, grantsmanship, and industry engagement.
The selected candidate will be expected to lead independent research in cancer immunotherapy, contribute
to strategic collaborations with biotech/biopharma partners, and mentor young researchers in a dynamic and
collaborative environment.
Eligibility Criteria:
Essential Qualification:
Ph.D. in Immunology, Tumor Biology,
Molecular Oncology, or a closely
related field with First Class or
equivalent in the preceding degree
and a consistent academic record.
Experience:
Minimum of seven years of teaching
/research/industrial experience
(excluding PhD). Postdoctoral
research experience from a foreign
institution in cancer immunology is
highly desirable. Applicants must have
published at least six manuscripts (in
Q1 journal) as a first or corresponding
author after completing their PhD.
Research Profile:
▪ Strong publication record in high-impact peer-reviewed
journals.
▪ Demonstrated ability to secure extramural research funding.
▪ Proven experience in immunological assays, tumor
microenvironment studies, checkpoint inhibition, CAR-T cell
therapy, and development of cancer biotherapeutics.
▪ Experience in handling clinical or translational cancer
immunotherapy projects will be an added advantage.
Desirable Qualifications:
▪ Experience working in Biosafety Level 2/3 (BSL2/BSL3)
facilities.
▪ Exposure to preclinical cancer models and immunoprofiling.
▪ Industry collaborations and/or translational research
outputs (e.g., patents, licensed technologies).
▪ Demonstrated leadership in team science and mentoring
junior researchers.
