Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) invites Online Applications for faculty
positions under Special Recruitment Drive (SRD) for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PWD possessing excellent
academic background, commitment to top quality teaching, and with proven credentials for carrying
out outstanding research and development, for Assistant Professor Positions in the various academic
Schools and Centers of the Institute.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi invites Online Applications under Special
Recruitment Drive (SRD) from Indian nationals belonging to reserved categories:
SC/ST/OBC(NCL/PWD, possessing excellent academic background, commitment to top quality
teaching, and with proven credentials for carrying out outstanding research and development, without
any compromise on qualification, experience and competence, for Assistant Professor positions in
various academic Schools and Centers of the Institute. For this recruitment, the research areas for
various schools/centers are mentioned in the below table:

Biosciences and
Bioengineering
(SBB)
Biomechanics
Biological Modelling and Simulation
Biomedical Systems: Instrumentation, Devices, Point-of-care Device, Low
Cost Diagnostics & Imaging
Assistive Technology: Rehabilitation and Implants
Biomedical Robotics: Prosthetics
Biomanufacturing (for example Industrial Biotechnology, Bioprocessing
Engineering and Technology, Design and process scale-up and the
production of Biomolecules and enzymes at scalable levels)
Cancer Biology
Metabolic Disease with a focus on mechanistic aspects of Type 2
Diabetes, Obesity and Diabetic complications such as retinopathy,
neuropathy.)
Immunology (preferably adaptive immune system
Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD categories will be applicable as per the MOE,
Government of India rules. The certificates issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format
needs to be attached in support of his/her claim.

Important Information
A candidate can apply to more than one School. Candidates applying for a position in more than
one School are required to fill separate application forms.
Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview.
The candidates should ensure that all the relevant information and documents have been
uploaded before finalizing the application. After submission of the application, the candidate
should keep a copy of it for his/her record. No hard copy of the application need to be
submitted.
For availing reservation, the candidates should upload copies of their valid
SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format
of the Government of India along with the application form in support of their claim.
Applicants called for interview will be reimbursed to and fro travel expenses within India.
However, the Economy Class Air Fare Tickets should be purchased through authorized travel
agents i.e. Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC), M/s Balmer Lawrie
& Company Limited (BLCL),and M/s Ashoka Tours & Travels (ATT). Accommodation may be
provided on payment basis in the Institute Guest House subject to availability.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to keep his/her current employer informed about
his/her application to IIT Mandi.
The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the post(s) advertised without
assigning any reason. The Institute has the right to set different as well as higher norms, while
short-listing, considering the specific requirement of the schools. Based on the shortlisting
criteria, applications will be processed. Only the shortlisted applicants will be contacted
through the emails provided by them in the application form.
The Institute may consider candidates whose area of specialization and specific qualification lie
outside those stated herein, provided these candidates have an outstanding record.
The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates or interview to a
reasonable limit on the basis of qualification, experience and other academic achievements
higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
The Institute reserves the right to withdraw any advertised position(s) at any time without
assigning any reason.
The invitation to candidate for interview merely indicates that it is felt that he/she with others
may be suitable for the post and conveys no assurance whatsoever that he/she will be
recommended or selected or his/her conditions specified in the application will be accepted.
No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding reason for not
being called for presentation/interview/outcome of interview.
Depending on requirement, interview may be conducted in selected specializations only.
However, exceptionally meritorious candidates in any area of specialization pertaining to the
said specialization will also be considered.
The candidate is responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the online
application form. If it is found at a later stagethat any information given in the application is
incorrect/false, the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/terminated.
Applicants employed in Government and Semi Government organizations, Public Undertakings,
University and Educational Institutions should submit their application through proper channel
or submit “No Objection Certificate from the current employer at the time of Interview. In
absence of the same, the applicant will not be permitted to attend the Interview.
Canvassing in any manner may entail disqualification of the candidates.
Any dispute regarding the selection/recruitment process will fall under the jurisdiction of the
Hon’ble Court/Tribunal at Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
