NATIONAL CENTRE FOR CELL SCIENCE, PUNE (An autonomous Institution of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India) NCCS Complex, Savitribai Phule Pune University Campus, Ganeshkhind, Pune - 411007, Maharashtra, India The BRIC-National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) is an autonomous institution of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, for a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The Centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of Savitribai Phule Pune University Campus, Pune. NCCS invites applications for following posts on various extramural projects purely on temporary basis. 

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) 

Project Title Investigating the role of clathrin light chain in neural development and function. 

Project Tenure Upto 19.06.2027 

Department Department of Biotechnology

Job Description Experience with Drosphila genetics, setting up crosses, dissection, immunocytochemistry, confocal imaging, image analysis, data analysis, molecular biology, cloning. 

Essential Qualification B.S 4 years programme / Bpharm /MBBS/Integrated BS-MS/MSc/BE/BTech or equivalent degree, with 55% marks and passing of NET/GATE test. 

Age limit Not more than 28 years as on the closing date of application. Age relaxation The upper age limit is relax-able up-to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.

Name of the Post: Project Associate-I (PA-I) 

Number of posts: 01 (One) 

Name of the Project: VAPB at membrane contact sites: ALS-FTD at the crossroads of ER stress, proteostasis lipid homeostasis and inflammation. 

Essential Qualification & Experience: Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent. 

Desirable Experience: A minimum of 6 months research experience in a fly lab working with Drosophila genetic, setting up crosses, fly dissection, bacterial culture, plating, microscopy, image analysis, and data analysis. 

Project Tenure: Up to 28.02.2029 

Total Monthly Emoluments: (i) 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a. National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE Or b. A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions (ii) 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above Age limit: Not more than 35 years as on the closing date of application.
