Contractual Basis
Applications are hereby invited from eligible candidates for following position
at ICAR-IIGR Junagadh:
SRF (Senior Research Fellow)
for Enhancing climate resilience
and ensuring food security with
genome editing tools
Pay Scale: – Rs.37000/- per month
+ HRA
Tenure: - One year or till the
termination of the project,
whichever is earlier.
Age Limit: maximum age 35 years
(age relaxation of five years for
SC/ST/Woman and three years for
OBC)
Essential Qualification:
–
Ph.D. OR Master Degree in Plant
Molecular Biology and Biotechnology,
Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology or
Agricultural Biotechnology with 4 years /
5 years of bachelor’s degree. (OR)
Candidates having post-graduate degree
in basic science with 3 years bachelor’s
degree and 2 years master’s degree
should have NET qualification and 2
years of research experience.
Desirable Experience:
Experience in the area of molecular
biology/ gene cloning/ transgenic
development/ plant genome editing/
bioinformatics along with proficiency in
computers, molecular biology techniques
and tissue culture work will be given
preference.
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for above position at this
institute, as detailed in the advertisement. These positions are offered on a purely
temporary and contractual basis, co-terminus with the project. The initial
appointment will be for a period of one year or until the completion of the project,
whichever is earlier. Please note that there is no assurance of extension or renewal.
The institute reserves the right to terminate the appointment at any time, without
prior notice or explanation.

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the information
provided in their application forms and the supporting documents submitted along
with their applications. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified via email and
invited to participate in an interview, which may be conducted online. Any
misrepresentation or submission of false information at any stage of the selection
process will result in immediate disqualification.
Important Note: These positions are purely temporary and contractual in nature.
There is no provision for regular appointment at the institute or at ICAR upon
completion of the project. The institute reserves the right to terminate the
appointment at any time without assigning any reason or prior notice.
Failure to fulfill assigned duties or to adhere to the prescribed disciplinary
standards will result in termination of the contract, as per ICAR rules. Canvassing
