Application are invited from eligible candidates for a temporary post of Research associate -1 for DRDO funded project No- LSRB-271/SH&DD/2015 entitled “Role of CD11b+ /Gr-1 - (iNOs+ ) macrophages and T cells in the management of lethal radiation induced hemopoietic syndrome and radioprotection” for a duration of one year with possibility of extension until the end of project until June 2018. Fellowship amount: Rs 36000 plus 30% HRA per month
Project background: The project is aiming to unravel various immunological mechanisms which could be responsible for protective action of bioactive compounds against radiation syndrome in therapeutic setting. The project is also aimed to identify various macrophages / leukocyte binding principles (TLR agonist) and to unravel their mechanism of radioprotective action (molecular and immunological) in macrophages and T cells. We would explore the potential role of activated or pre-condioned macrophages and / or T cells alone or in combination in therapeutic radioprotection using adoptive cell transfer strategies.
Desired Educational qualification: You should have completed Ph.D dissertation in the area of “Innate immunity” and should have got strong expertise on handling APC, myeloid cells and their co culture with T cells for studying adaptive immune response in both murine as well as human system. The candidate is expected to have some experience in cloning of mammalian proteins. The candidate should have capability of designing experiments independently. The most eligible candidate would have an additional expertise of handling and conducting experiments with animals which is indispensible requirement of the project.
