International Conference on Recent Trends in Biosciences (ICRTB 2016)

April 7-9 2016

About ICRTB:

The scope of International Conference on Recent Trends in Biosciences-2016 (ICRTB-2016) is to provide the platform for the path breaking discussions on the recent development in Biosciences through Plenary Lectures, Invited talks, Mini-Oral Presentations and Poster Presentation by the researchers all over the world. ICRTB-2016 covers key issues and topics related to Medical Biotechnology, Agricultural Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, Microbial Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Structural Biology & Energy and Environment. Antibiotics, which are the magic bullets that fight against major life threatening diseases significantly improved the human and animal health worldwide. The major source of the present day antibiotics is from microbes and other medicinal plants. However, scientific communities failed to develop new classes of antibiotics for the betterment of human and animal health for the past three decades. The overconsumption and uncontrolled utility of antibiotics have created major environmental stress to most of the pathogens that resulted in the genesis of multi-drug resistant (MDR) pathogens. In addition, Cancer that comes under the non communicable diseases poses the major life threatening effect in India. The prevalence of cancer in India is estimated to be around 2.5 million, with about 8,00,000 new cases and 5,50,000 deaths per annum. Other than cancer, Alzheimers Disease has become a major health problem in Society. Early detection, prevention, and therapeutic intercessions are needed to minimize the ill effects of this disease. Hence, new bioactive molecules are needed to combat against these microbial related pathogenesis and non-communicable diseases. Further, the aquaculture industries in India have been overwhelmed with a wide array of aquatic animal diseases caused by bacteria, fungi and other pathogens. This impedes both economic and social development in many countries including India. Hence, identification of novel bioactive molecules that target the microbial pathogens that pose major life threatening effects to humans and aquatic animals is the only hope. Advent of computational approaches and structural Biology provides the common solution to address issues related to the identification of active biomolecules against the aforesaid diseases. Further, development of technology related to agriculture that aims in developing stress, drought and pest resistant transgenic plants and crops to alleviate the problems faced by the farmers is also the need of the hour. Keeping all these in mind, ICRTB-2016 is expected to display the recent breakthroughs and important developments under one umbrella through the unique scientific discussion from the experts all around the world.
