International conference on applications of natural products and opportunities ahead (ICAN 2016)

 Natural products are an unique resources primarily from plants, algae, microbes, fungi and actinomycetes that provide a diverse array of applications. Natural products have been used in folklore for the treatment of various diseases. According to World Health Organization (WHO), about 80% of the world’s population relies on traditional medicine and about 121 FDA approved drugs prescribed in USA today come from natural sources. This conference is focusing on applications of natural products to cure infectious diseases, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases etc.

All the time scientists and clinicians are facing the critical questions: are such natural products and treatments are safe? Can the side effects be inherited by future generations? What about the financial aspects: will it be expensive or inexpensive, and how should we prioritize? To throw light on these perspectives and questions, the School of Life Sciences at B.S Abdur Rahman University, Chennai is planning to organize a conference on Natural products and its applications on 2-3 August 2016 at B. S. Abdur Rahman University premises.

Abstractsshouldbe submitted in MS-word format with the following specifications: Times New Roman, font size 12 and double spacing, as soft copy. Abstract should not exceed 250 words. The soft copy of the abstracts must be sent to e-mail address dean.sls@bsauniv.ac.in

Last date for abstract submission on or before 28, July, 2016.

ORAL/POSTER PRESENTATION COMPETETION

Research Scholars and students can participate in oral/poster presentation competition and best three posters and oral presentations will be rewarded. The poster size should be of 48 X 36 inches.
