NCSM, an autonomous scientific organization under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, invites applications for the following post which is liable to be transferred to any science museum / centre under NCSM:
01. Curator ‘B’ - 01 post
[Reserved for HH- (Hearing Handicapped under PWD category]
Minimum 40% in case of Hearing Impaired- sense of hearing is non-functional for ordinary purposes of life; do not hear, understand sounds at all even with amplified speech; hearing loss more than 60 decibels in the better ear (profound impairment) or total loss of hearing in both ears.
Scale of pay - PB-3: ₹15600-39100 with Grade Pay ₹5400/- & other allowances as admissible under the rules of NCSM.
(Total emoluments at start shall be ₹60,750.00 approx. in A-1 cities and will change depending on the place of posting)
02. The appointee of Curator ‘B’ has excellent career opportunities of merit based in-situ promotions applicable to scientific category of officers in NCSM as per which an incumbent will be eligible for promotion to next higher grades (maximum up to PB-4, ₹37400-67000 with GP ₹10000) after minimum residency period prescribed at each grade.
03. Essential qualifications:
1st class M.Sc. in Physics / Chemistry / Bio-Science / Environmental Science or 1st Class B. Tech / B.E. in Mechanical / Electronics / Electrical / Information & Technology / Production Engineering / Telecommunication / Instrumentation / Computer Engineering or M.Tech / M.E / M.S (Engg.) or Ph.D. in Science/Engineering.
04. Experience:
Minimum one-year post qualification experience in required areas. Candidates having 1st Class M.Sc. / B.E / B.Tech with M.S/M.Tech in Science Communication or candidates having M.Tech / M.E / M.S (Engg.) or Ph.D. in Science/Engineering, are exempted from experience.
05. Maximum Age Limit:
35 years as on 30.11.2016 (Relaxation of age as per Govt. of India norms shall be allowed for HH candidates).
06. Job Description:
Design and development of exhibits, audio-visual demonstrations, teaching aids etc.; development of museum sections on various subjects of science & technology; organization of educational programmes for different categories; research on history of science & technology, museum techniques and evaluation of exhibits all pertaining to the developmental activities of the museum/centre. Assisting in day-to-day work and administration of the museum/centre.
07. In addition to Basic Pay (Pay + Grade Pay), allowances such as D.A./H.R.A/Transport allowance etc. are also admissible at par with Govt. of India employees.

Candidates working in Government/PSU/Autonomous organizations should send their applications through proper channel. Incomplete applications or applications not accompanied with necessary documents shall be summarily rejected.
08. Mere possession of requisite qualifications and experience shall not entitle the candidates to be called for the test and interview. Decision of NCSM in this regard shall be final and binding. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as disqualification for the post. Interim enquiries will not be entertained.
Applications not submitted in the prescribed format and without copies of testimonials as proof of qualification & experience, hearing disability, photograph etc., shall not be considered.
