IISER-K Marine Biodiversity JRF Openings

As part of Ministry of Earth Sciences (MOES), Govt of India funded project 'Marine faunal diversity along the West Bengal coast with special reference to nematodes' under MLRP programme, two Junior Research Fellow positions are open in the Integrative Taxonomy and Microbial Ecology Research Group, Department of Biological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata [IISERK] to prepare a catalogue of marine species occurring the West Bengal coastal stretches and investigate trends of benthic biodiversity in link with environmental parameters from coastal sedimentary environments.

Qualifications

Candidates with M.Sc. in Zoology/Marine Science/Marine Biology/Environmental Science having some knowledge on benthic taxonomy and willingness to undertake rigorous field work activities would be highly desirable can apply electronically by sending a copy of their CV along with the motivation letter to pbhadury@iiserkol.ac.in. Fellowship will be as per MoES guidelines. The position will be initially for a period of three months and may be extended subject to satisfactory performance. The last date for applying is 20th December, 2016.

Only short-listed candidates will be notified by email and subsequently called for interview in due course. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
