CSIR – IGIB (Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology) a constituent Laboratory of CSIR is
devoted to R&D activities, technology support and academic including Skill Training/HR for the
benefit of Genomics and Molecular Technologies industry in the country.
CSIR-IGIB invites applications for “Training Programme in Genomics and Molecular
Technologies for Industrial Applications” at its centre in New Delhi, as per the details given
below:
Title of the Training programme : Training Programme in Genomics and Molecular
Technologies for Industrial Applications
Duration : 24 Weeks (6 months)
No. of Seats : 10 maximum
Educational Qualification : B.Sc. in (Botany, Zoology, Human Biology, Life Sciences,
Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences,
Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Clinical biochemistry,
Medical Laboratory Technology), B.Pharm from a
recognized University with minimum 50% marks in
aggregate
Age group : 21-25 years (relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per GoI rules)
Expected date of
commencement
: 15.07.2017

Course Fee : Rs. 30,000/- (Thirty thousand only)
Residential/Non-residential : Non-residential
Training for whom: This program is a training programme covering major laboratory
methodologies of Genomics and Molecular Technologies. It is an intensive combination of
academic and applied training program to meet the industry requirements. After successful
completion of the training programme, students can become eligible for engagement as
laboratory technologists or Research Assistants in Pharma, other R & D industries and
Diagnostic laboratories.
Training programme Structure: The training programme will include 5 papers:
1.
Laboratory Safety, Record keeping and Auditing, Data files Organization.
2. Molecular
Diagnostics,
3. Hands on experience on cell biology Technologies,
4. Microbial Technologies,
and
5. Special topics. All 5 papers are compulsory.
Students are required to pass in all 5 papers
for successful completion of the training programme.
Management and Faculty: The teaching faculty will be largely drawn from a set of highly
qualified and competent scientists from CSIR-IGIB and a few experts will be called for
specialized topics. Students will be taught about the basic principles of the Technologies with
examples of applications. They will be given more time for practical training.
Selection Procedure : A written aptitude test may be conducted to select suitable
candidates. Date and Time will be displayed in the advertisement on CSIR-IGIB Web site
(www.igib.res.in).
Methods of Instruction: Instruction methods involve hands on practice.
Medium of
instruction will be in English.
