NCAAE is organizing 7 day workshop during May 22-28, 2017

ABOUT THE CENTRE

National Centre for Alternatives to Animal Experiments (NCAAE) is the erstwhile Mahatma Gandhi - Doerenkamp Center (MGDC), which has been taken over by the UGC under CPEPA scheme. The center is established with the motto of motivating the scientists, teachers, researchers, students and other stakeholders to take to “alternative methods” in the place of animal use in Life Science/Biomedical Science education / research along the lines of 3Rs principles of Replacement, Reduction and Refinement.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

The goal of the workshop is to train the participants in basic cell culture methods in in vitro toxicology / pharmacology including lab maintenance, culturing human and animal cell lines, established cell line culture techniques such as enumeration of cells, cell viability assays, detection and quantification of apoptosis, staining techniques, determination of ROS and molecular end points. The workshop will be conducted with immense responsibility that all the participants will get individual hands-on experience in all the techniques covered as exercises. At the end of the workshop the participants will be armed with valuable skills and experience to take to their own labs.

Enrollment will be limited to 16 candidates only, on first-come first-serve basis within the purview of regional representation.

1)      B.Tech. / PG Students, M.Phil/Ph.D Scholars, Faculty,
2)      Technicians / Scientists from industries and/or academic institutes

REGISTRATION FEE

Registration fee for the workshop is Rs. 5000/- per participant which includes workshop kits, working lunch and refreshment.

Outstation participants will have to make their own arrangement for food (breakfast and dinner) and/or accommodation. This can be arranged by NCAAE, provided the cost (Rs. 3000/- to 5,000/-) is met.

Payment is to be made only after receiving the mail of confirmation of enrollment for the training workshop from NCAAE. The confirmation mail will contain details about payment.
