CSIR-Faculty Training and Motivation Programme – 2017

CSIR- National Institute of Oceanography is organizing a four days (11-14 July 2017) “CSIR-Faculty Training and Motivation” programme for high school and higher secondary schoolscience teachers from Goa. This programme is funded by Human Resource Department Group of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi.

The purpose of this program is to re-energize teachers, expose them to different fields of Oceanography, hands on research experience and then communicate it back to their classes filled with more confidence and enthusiasm and increased knowledge about the world of oceans.  The participants are encouraged to learn the content and process of scientific inquiry by engaging in research and group discussions and communicate their findings to others. This training will provide an opportunity to the teachers to interact with some of the eminent scientists from the scientific community. This program will enable the teachers to encourage their students to do science.

Science teachers of schools/Colleges (upto XII Class) are encouraged to apply for this programme. Travelling allowance, training materials and hospitality will be provided by CSIR-NIO. This program is recognized by the Directorate of Education Goa. Participants will be considered as on deputation/on duty during the training days (Please see the official letter attached).  Those who wish to participate in the programme may please submit application form (download from NIO website). Selection of participants is subjected to:
  1. Selection will be done on first come first serve.  Maximum of 15 participants
  2. The program is open to science teachers from Goa only, who are teaching in high school and higher secondary schools.
  3. Participant should have minimum 5 years of service left.
  4. Last date of application is 30 June 2017.
  5. Selected candidates will be informed by 05 July 2017 (through e-mail/phone)
