We have an opening for the post of a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in genetic epidemiology,
statistical genetics or related fields in neurodegenerative diseases. The dead line for application
is 14th of August, 2017. Selected candidates will be called for interview.
The Centre for Brain Research (CBR) is an autonomous research centre of the Indian Institute of
Science (IISc) and has a focus on clinical aspects of neurodegenerative disorders like dementia
and stroke. CBR has initiated epidemiological studies on neurodegenerative disorders and one of
its aims is to identify their genetic risk/protective factors using latest tools of genetics like GWAS
and NGS. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow who will be involved in analysing
the high-throughput genetic data generated from this work. Candidates applying for this position
are required to have a PhD degree (or submitted thesis), a strong background in genetic
epidemiology, epidemiology, statistical genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology or a
related discipline.
Applicant should have demonstrated her/his expertise in the field through
publication in indexed journals and should be familiar with statistical genetic/bioinformatics
software packages used for analyzing large genomic data sets. Salary will be fixed based on
experience.
