Applications are invited from qualified candidates to teach the following subjects* in the
University Constituent Colleges, Post-Graduate Departments at Manasagangothri and PostGraduate
Centres at Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajanagara. This is purely a stop-gap arrangement
to cope up with the additional work-load for the present academic year 2017-18. The applicants
must know that this assignment is not counted against sanctioned vacancies. Therefore, the
selected candidates cannot make any claim for absorption into regular service. Only those
candidates, who are agreeable to the terms of appointment, which is tenable only for the academic
year 2017-18, can apply. The work carries honorarium as detailed below, excluding the period
of vacation during which time the services will be dispensed.
1 Guest faculty with Ph.D./NET/SLET/SET
(For 12 hours of teaching per week)
Rs.22,500/- per month
2 Guest faculty without Ph.D./NET/SLET/SET
(For 12 hours of teaching per week)
Rs.19,500/- per month
3 Guest faculty with Ph.D./NET/SLET/SET
(For 08 hours of teaching per week)
Rs.15,000/- per month
4 Guest faculty without Ph.D./NET/SLET/SET
(For 08 hours of teaching per week)
Rs.13,000/- per month
Qualifications required:
Master’s Degree with at least 55% of marks in relevant subjects (50% marks in case of
candidates belonging to SC/ST) with NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D.
However, candidates without NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. will only be considered, if no
candidate with above qualification is/are available.
The dates of interview will be notified in the University website.
No separate interview
intimation will be sent. Therefore, the candidates who have applied should watch website
regularly. During the interview, candidates may have to give lecture of about 10-15 minutes on a
given topic before the committee.
Preference will be given to such candidates with teaching experience in the University.
Reservation roster will be followed as per Government Orders at the time of making
appointments as per this Notification.

The last date for submission of filled in application forms to the Registrar, University of
Mysore, Mysore is 06-07-2017 (upto 5.00 pm).
