NATIONAL BRAIN RESEARCH CENTRE (NBRC), Manesar-122051, Gurgaon, requires Junior
R&D Engineer (Project).
Applications are invited for the position of Junior R&D engineer (Project) in the laboratory of
Prof. Pravat K. Mandal at National Brain Research Centre, Manesar, India. The scientific interest of the
lab is to identify early in vivo biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders, new/novel signal processing
toolbox (Kalpana), Indian Brain Template and new toolbox (Boldsync for fMRI study). The lab uses
multi-modal neuroimaging techniques, i.e. magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional MRI (fMRI),
and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and MEG data to investigate the associated structural,
functional, and neurochemical brain alterations, respectively. Interested candidates fulfilling the

Minimum Qualifications B. Tech. / B.E. (Electrical / Electronic) or Master in Neuroscience
Minimum 60% from matriculation onwards.
Desirable
Qualification/Experience
Research experience in the area of toolbox design/improvement
(Boldsync) and image processing.
Experience with data analysis tools viz., MATLAB, IDL, and R software.
Ability to multitask, effective project leadership and management.
Excellent scientific communication and writing skills. Experience with
writing scientific manuscripts is essential.

Statement of purpose (SOP) (minimum 500 words) indicating your
research interests/expertise in cognitive neuroscience.
Candidate should
indicate how his/her experience/expertise will help ongoing research
activities related to toolbox design for fmri study of the Neuroimaging and
Neurospectroscopy laboratory. Application without SOP will not be
shortlisted.
