RGCB Molecualr Biology Project Vacancy

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Project Assistant in a DBT (Ramalingaswami Fellowship) funded project entitled "Regulation of ETS fusion transcription factors in refractory prostate cancer model" of Dr. Nirmalya Sen at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS : Candidates with Master's Degree in any field of Biology are eligible to apply. Applicants should have a minimum of 65% marks in MSc. 

Experience in laboratory based cell culture, animal handling/experiments and basic molecular biology techniques. At least one project during MSc that includes the above mentioned experiences. One letter of reference from college/university supervisor, if selected for the post. 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS : NET/GATE qualification is preferred. 

AGE : Below 28 years as on 15th June, 2018. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms. 

EMOLUMENT : Rs. 14,000/- per month 

DURATION Two years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier. Initial appointment will be for one year and further extension will be given up to 2 years based on performance. Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview and only those who are successful in the written test will be interviewed. 

No TA/ DA will be given for appearing in the interview. Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format (Download here) with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of Marks obtained and attested photocopies of credentials & experience to reach the undersigned on or before 15th June, 2018. Envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
