Laboratory facilities at National College

The Department has excellent facilities for teaching and research in Modern Biology and Biotechnology, namely, Animal Cell Culture (Class 1000 Clean Room Facility), Plant Tissue Culture, Fermentation technology, Microbiology, Immunology, Environmental Biotechnology, Geobiotechnology and Genetic Engineering.  

Exclusive Facility for Geo-Biotechnology is available in the Department, exploring new avenues in the areas of Geological time scale research using molecular biological tools.

Exclusive Centre for Training in Research / Industrial Equipment Facility (NCIF)

The department houses every facility for the teaching and learning of Biotechnology from PG level up to research level with an exclusive National College Instrumentation Facility (NCIF) which is equipped with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometer (GC-MS), X-Ray Crystallography, Thermal Gravimetric Analyser, Particle-Size Analyzer, FT-Infra Red Spectrophotometer and Fluorescent Spectrophotometer.

The admission for MSc Biotechnology has started (for Non-GAT-B / Management seat) at National College (Autonomous), Tiruchirapalli.

Admission and Semester fee for MSc Biotechnology (Non-GAT-B seat) : Rs. 36,500/- 

Admission: Offline / Online
