CALL FOR RESEARCH STAFF (Project Research Scientist-I) POSITION Date: 10 June 2025
About: Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in a time-bound research project sponsored by the Indian Council of Medical Research for a temporary period purely on a contractual basis as per the following details:
Position: Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
Number of Vacancies: 01 (One in Biological Sciences Dept.)
Project Title: A portable image-guided robotic cold plasma system for localized and targeted therapy of oral cancers
Funding Agency: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI’s : Dr. Radha Raman Mishra, Department of Mechanical Engineering (PI) Prof. Shibasish Chowdhury and Prof. Sudeshna Mukherjee, Department of Biological Sciences (Co-PIs)
Project Tenure: 4 Years, (Candidate will be considered for a PhD position as well)
Job Description:
Project Research Scientist-I will be involved in biological wet lab experiments involving cell culture and all other biological assays, including treatment with Cold Plasma, RNA isolation, analyzing RNA Sequencing Data, Western Blot, and other related assays and their analysis. The student will also be involved in preparing manuscripts for SCI index journals, conferences and patents and have to work in close association with Dept. Of Mechanical Engineering.
Qualification:
Position 1: (Essential: First class Master's Degree in M Tech/ME/MS/M Pharma/MSc in Biotechnology/Nanotechnology/Pharma/Biosciences or any other relevant specialization;
Desirable: Exposure to relevant laboratory work)
MUST: NET/GATE qualified
Upper Age Limit: Age not exceeding 35 years as of the date of the interview
Fellowship: Rs. 56,000 + 9% HRA (Subject to HRA Rules & Regulations)
