Applications are invited for the position of Project
Technical Assistant (03 positions) under the ICMR-funded CAR project titled: “Rational
Design of High-Efficiency Recombinant AAV Vectors for Duchenne Muscular
Dystrophy Treatment”
Position Details:
Position Title: Project Technical Assistant
Duration: Three years (A minimum commitment of three
years is required)
Location: GROW Laboratory, Narayana Nethralaya
Foundation, Narayana Health City, Bangalore
Eligibility
Criteria:
Qualifications:
· -
Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field.
- Candidates with prior laboratory experience will be preferred.
· -Age limit: 30 years
Essential Experience (Candidates must have
experience in at least some of the following areas):
·
Mammalian cell culture and aseptic
techniques
·
Basic molecular biology techniques (PCR,
qPCR, gel electrophoresis, etc.)
·
Plasmid isolation and bacterial culture
·
Protein handling techniques including
SDS-PAGE and western blotting
·
Microscopy and tissue staining
techniques
·
Sample preparation and basic analytical
techniques
·
Assisting in laboratory organization and
data documentation
Job
Responsibilities:
·
Assist in cell culture, molecular
biology, and protein-based experiments
·
Support senior researchers in vector
production and quality control procedures
·
Help in clinical sample processing and
documentation
·
Maintain laboratory inventory, records,
and assist with general lab operations
·
Coordinate with team members for smooth
execution of experiments
Additional

Good communication and organizational
skills
·
Ability to work as part of a team and
willingness to learn new techniques
· Attention to detail and adherence to laboratory protocols and safety guidelines

Position Title: Project Research Scientist – III (Non-Medical)
Duration: Three years (A minimum commitment of three years is required)

Eligibility Criteria:
Qualifications:
·
- PhD in any branch of Biology,
Biotechnology, or Biomedical Sciences.
- Candidates with a PhD and demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience with
publications will be given preference.
Essential Experience
(Candidates must have experience in at least some of the following areas):
·
Mammalian cell culture, transfection,
and aseptic techniques
·
Plasmid production, bacterial culture,
and quality control
·
Molecular biology techniques (cloning,
PCR, qPCR, etc.)
·
Protein isolation, immunoblotting,
tissue staining, and microscopy
·
Chromatography techniques including ion
exchange and affinity chromatography (experience with AKTA preferred)
·
Experience with viral vectors, mammalian
gene cloning, bioreactor culture
·
Animal handling and tissue experiments
(mice)
Job
Responsibilities:
·
Production and validation of recombinant
AAV vectors
·
Mammalian cell culture, vector
transduction (in vitro and in vivo)
·
Plasmid preparation, quality control,
and genotyping
·
Processing and biobanking of clinical
samples
·
Participation in collaborative
experimental work at core facilities (may require travel)
Additional
Requirements:
·
Strong communication skills with the
ability to write scientific reports and present research findings
·
Team-oriented with experience in
collaborative research environments
· Willingness to contribute to experimental planning and the development of new project ideas
