Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work in the Inclusivity Research Grant (IRG)-Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)-funded project vide sanction order no. ANRF/IRG/2024/001194/LS. 

Title of the project: Synthesis, Characterization, and Antimicrobial Evaluation of Rhamnolipid Derivatives: A Promising Approach to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance 

Duration of the project: 3 Years The appointment will be on a purely temporary basis, and periodic performance evaluations will be conducted throughout the tenure. 

Fellowship amount: Rs. 37000/- + 20% HRA as per institute/project norms. 

Eligibility requirements: GATE/NET qualified in the relevant discipline. M.Tech/M.Sc/B.Tech in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Environmental Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences or related branch/allied areas from a reputed University/Institute in India with 1st class/division in their UG and PG degrees. 

Desirable Knowledge: Candidates with knowledge in biosurfactant synthesis (especially rhamnolipids) and expertise in chemical modification to enhance bioactivity, along with peerreviewed publications in relevant areas, will be preferred. 

Age Limit: Below 32 years. 

Job Profile: In this project, the selected candidate will be working on the following

1) Synthesis and modification of bioactive compounds, focusing on enhancing antimicrobial properties. 
2) Optimization of experimental conditions and characterization using standard spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques. 
3) Biological evaluation, including antimicrobial and cytotoxicity assays against relevant microbial strains. 
4) Computational analysis to study molecular interactions and support experimental findings. 
5) Preparation of scientific reports and manuscripts, and exploration of potential applications of the developed compounds.
