Job Description The One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) project aims to understand and address the emergence and spread of AMR across human, animal, agricultural, and environmental sectors. It adopts an integrated One Health approach to generate evidence through surveillance, field studies, and laboratory analysis. The project focuses on identifying key drivers of AMR in agri-food systems, including antibiotic usage patterns and environmental pathways. It also assesses knowledge, attitudes, and practices among stakeholders to inform behaviour change strategies. The findings will support policy recommendations and strengthen multisectoral coordination for AMR mitigation. Overall, the project contributes to national priorities and ICMR-led efforts to combat AMR.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Multidisciplinary Integration & Coordination
Lead coordination across multiple disciplines, including public health, environmental health, microbiology, and data science
Facilitate integration of research components into a cohesive
One Health framework
Organise and coordinate interdisciplinary meetings, stakeholder consultations, and technical discussions Liaise with partner institutions, implementation agencies, and collaborators
2. Project Management & Implementation Support
Assist in overall project planning, execution, and monitoring of activities
Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including work plans, reports, and meeting minutes Support budget tracking and coordination with administrative and finance teams
Identify implementation challenges and support risk mitigation strategies
3. Research & Technical Support
Support study design refinement, sampling strategies, and methodological strengthening
Oversee and coordinate data collection, field implementation, and quality assurance
Ensure adherence to study protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Contribute to the development of research tools, SOPs, and analytical frameworks
4. Digital Platform & Data Coordination
Coordinate with the IT team for the development of the project-level data management and AMR surveillance digital platform Support defining system requirements, indicators, and data tracking mechanisms Ensure alignment between field data collection and digital system
Qualification
Postgraduate degree, including the integrated PG degrees, with three years post-qualification Experience or PhD. Postgraduate degree (PhD/Master’s with significant experience) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, or related field
Experience 3–5 years of relevant experience in research projects, preferably in AMR, One Health, or public health.
Desirable: ·
Experience with AMR surveillance or digital health platforms ·
Familiarity with ICMR or similar funded projects ·
Prior experience in NGO/research institution settings.
