ADMISSION TO 5 YEAR INTEGRATED MASTERS (MS) PROGRAMME 2009
Education and research in science are the foundation of knowledge
supremacy, economic prosperity and good health. Taking advantage of the
latest technological innovations to usher in an era of advanced scientific
learning in the country is the primary goal of Indian Institutes of Science
Education and Research (IISERs).
Five IISERs have been established by the Government of India at Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram. This is a unique initiative in science education in India where teaching and education are totally integrated with state-of-the-art research nurturing both curiosity and creativity in an intellectually vibrant
atmosphere of research.
The IISERs aim to become science institutes of the highest international caliber. Each IISER is an autonomous institution conducting its own Masters and Doctoral programmes.
Students are encouraged to work on research projects during the vacation periods in the first four years of their Masters programme in various research institutes outside IISER.
IISERs have 5-year integrated MS (after 10 + 2) in the Sciences (BCMP) with
interdisciplinary courses and emphasis on research. There are vibrant Doctoral and Postdoctoral research programs in a variety of modern areas, with faculty of international repute.
All the selected students will be provided INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIP by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
