Applications are invited for following posts to be filled on purely temporary basis at NCCS, Pune in the project "Establishment of Microbial Culture Collection"
1. Scientist 'C' : Posts : Three (UR)
Scale of pay : Rs. 10000-325-15200 (TME Rs. 26390/-)
Age limit : Below 40 years
Qualification & Experience : 1st Class MTech / MD / MVSc / MPharm / MBiotech or Ph.D/ corresponding degrees in other disciplines with original work as evidenced by patents and publications. Evidence of leadership with about 4 years experience in R & D.
Desirable Experience : For one post experience of working in high containment laboratories with human pathogens and knowledge of BSL 3 related issues such as validation procedures, SOPs, bio-safety and teaching and training protocols etc. is desired. For the other post, expertise in microbial taxonomy and systematics with experience in isolating novel microbes, characterizing microbial communities from environmental samples using conventional and molecular techniques including high throughput sequencing is desirable.
Job description : Use of polyphasic approaches for the taxonomy of specialized microbial genera including pathogenic organisms, development of molecular approaches for microbial taxonomy.
2. Scientist 'B': Posts : Four (Three-UR & One-OBC)
Scale of pay : Rs. 8000-275-13500 (TME Rs. 21320/-)
Age limit : Below 35 years
Qualification & Experience : 1st Class MTech / MD / MVSc / MPharm / MBiotech or Ph.D/ corresponding degrees in other disciplines with original work as evidenced by patents and publications. Evidence of leadership with about one year experience in relevant field.
Desirable experience : Microbial identification, taxonomy and preservation.
Job description: Preservation, identification and authentication of cultures received at the collection.
3. Technical Officer 'A' (Lab) : Post : One(UR)
Scale of pay : Rs. 6500-200-10500 (TME Rs. 17118/-)
Age limit : Below 35 years
Qualification & Experience : M.Sc. or equivalent with 4 years of experience or B.Sc. or equivalent with 8 years of experience.
Job description: Supervision of the laboratory, help in culture identification and authentication.
4. Technician 'C' (Lab) : Posts : Three (UR)
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5500-175-9000 (TME Rs. 14283/-)
Age Limit : Below 30 years
Qualification & Experience : M.Sc. or equivalent with one year experience in R&D Laboratory or B.Sc. or equivalent with 5 years experience.
Job description: Handling and maintenance of specialized equipments like DNA sequencer, Gas Chromatograph etc.
Age relaxation of 5 years in case of SC/ST, 3 years in case of OBC candidates and 10 years for PH candidates will be given.
