The National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research (NCAOR), an autonomous society under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India is looking for prospective candidates for filling up the following scientific posts under various projects. The posts are purely temporary and on a project mode basis initially for a period of one year.

7. Research Scientist - B @ 28560/- (Inc.HRA)
Essential MSc Marine Biology/Microbiology from a recognized university with 60% marks at Graduation or Post Graduation level
Experience 2 years of experience in R&D in the relevant field
Desirable Knowledge of bacterial identification.
Job Responsibilities To work for overall planning, coordination & implementation of Indian Arctic Programme & to work in the field of polar microbial biogeochemistry.
8. Research Associate - 2 Posts @ 16000/- + HRA as applicable
Essential Doctorate degree in Microbiology/Botany/Life Sciences with specialization in Bacterial Taxonomy/Molecular Biology from a recognized university
Experience Two years of experience in R&D in the relevant field.
Job Responsibilities Investigation of Antarctic sediment cores & Ice core samples for phylogenetic analysis of Antarctic microorganisms
Project "Biogeochemistry and Hydrodynamics of the Indian Sector of Southern Ocean"
11 Research Scientist - B - 1 Post @ Rs 28560/- (Inc HRA)
Essential Masters degree in Marine Sciences/Marine Biology/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks at Graduation or Post Graduation level.
Experience Two years of academic/R&D experience in the relevant field
Desirable Experience in work related to Biological Oceanography and participation in scientific cruises/data acquisition/ processing/ interpretation.
Job Responsibilities Play an active role in all facets of the work program related to the project; participation in scientific cruises/data acquisition/ processing/ interpretation/ analytical and laboratory work
