Join PhD and associate with Indo-German International Research and Training Group (IRTG) in Molecular and Cellular Glycosciences (MCGS)

Applications are invited from eligible, truly interested national level JRF-CSIR-UGC-NET qualified candidates to associate with Indo-German International Research and Training Group in Molecular and Cellular Glyco-sciences (IRTG-MCGS).

The IRTG-MCGS group comprises of faculty from University of Munster in Germany, University of Hyderabad and Osmania University in India for research in glycobiology and identified topics of research for collaboration (details can be seen at (http://www.unimuenster.de/mcgs).

Qualifications The applicant should have with good academic record with MSc in any area of Life Sciences/Chemistry (preferably with a work interest in glycobiology) and is willing to participate in the IRTG.

Preference will only be given to the candidates

a) qualified a national level eligibility test for a research fellowship
b) familiarity with the carbohydrate chemistry/biochemistry

Important points to note:

1. The candidates selected for this programme will not get monthly stipend from
IRTG-MCGS or from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
2. The programme is formally approved by DFG in Germany while an application is filed with DST in India for support to the Indian investigators.

It is important to note that the selected candidates will have the opportunity to visit my research collaborator’s lab in Germany to carry out part of the doctoral research work and attend a summer school being organized at University of Munster, Germany every year.
