JUIT Summer Trainings 2010 in Biotechnology & Bioinformatics

JUIT is offering summer trainings of one month (June 2010) in different areas of Biotechnology/Bioinformatics to M.Tech./B.Tech/M.Sc. students in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. Following are the training modules floated for the upcoming summer:-

1. Dr. C. Poduri - Medical Virology (Flaviviridae/Complete Genomes/Sequences/Critical analysis /Bioinformatics markers –signatures)

2. Dr. Sudhir Kumar Syal - Environmental Biotechnology and Microbial Techniques (Bioremediation of hydrocarbons/Bioleaching of electronic waste/Bioconversion of feedstock to alternative fuels – Bioethnaol, Biogas/vermicomposting/Bacterial Identification.)

3. Dr. Harvinder Singh - Molecular Biology Techniques (Plasmid isolation, Restriction analysis, Cloning and PCR amplification of given gene, Molecular marker techniques)

4. Dr. Hemant Sood - Commercial Plant Tissue Culture (Micropropagation & Production of Phytopharmaceuticals through cell culture technologies)

5. Mr. Sri Krishana & Mr. Dipankar Sengupta - Bioinformatics (Genome analysis tools/ Protein modeling tools/ Sequence analysis/ Pairwise and multiple alignments and their importance in gene prediction and phylogenetic analysis.)

Training fee will be Rs 10,000 including accommodation and mess charges.

Interested students may send their applications (hard copy or soft copy) routed through their Dean/HOD/Training Coordinator along with cv indicating the subjects (Theory as well as Lab. courses) for which they are registered in the current semester by 30 April, 2010 to the undersigned.
