Applications are invited upto 14th June, 2010 to fill up the vacant posts, on consolidated salary, as detailed below, initially for a period of one year, likely to be extended, under adhoc project “Establishment of Diagnostic, Virology Laboratory (Grade I)” at Regional Medical Research Centre (Indian Council of Medical Research), Port Blair.
2) NAME OF THE POST : RESEARCH SCIENTIST ‘II’ (NON MEDICAL)
Number of post : ONESALARY : Rs.21,400 + 7.5% HRA per month
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL(i.) First Class Master's Degree in Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Medical Lab Technology/ Bioinformatics/ Entomology/Virology/M.Sc. (Anthropology). Or
Second Class Master's Degree in relevant subjects with Ph.D Degree from a recognized University.
(ii.) Four years research experience in the field of Infectious Diseases.DESIRABLE(i.) PhD in the relevant field.
(ii.) Knowledge of Computer Application.
(iii.) Post doctoral research/research in the field of virology.
JOB REQUIREMENTTo carry out the investigation in relation to the prevalence of viral diseases such as Dengue, Chickungunya, Viral Hepatitis, Hanta Viral Disease and Influenza and to conduct the research in the respective areas.
AGE
Not exceeding 40 years. Relaxable upto 5 years for Government servants in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personal and Training from time to time in this regard.
4) NAME OF THE POST : RESEARCH SCIENTIST ‘I’ (NON MEDICAL)
Number of post : ONESALARY : Rs.17,120 + 7.5% HRA per month
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
(i.) First Class Master's Degree in Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Medical Lab Technology/ Bioinformatics/ Entomology/Virology/M.Sc. Anthropology. OrSecond Class Master's Degree in relevant subjects with Ph.D Degree from a recognized University.DESIRABLE
(i) Ph.D. in the relevant field.(iii) Three years research experience in the field of Infectious Diseases with special reference to viral diseases.
(ii) Knowledge of Computer Application.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Three years Graduate Degree in Microbiology/Virology/Biomedical Technology/Pathology with 2 years experience or Three years Graduate Degree in Microbiology/Virology/Biomedical Technology/Pathology with 2 yearsDiploma in relevant discipline from a recognized university/institute.
JOB REQUIREMENTTo carry out the investigation in relation to the prevalence of viral diseases such as Dengue, Chickungunya, Viral Hepatitis, Hanta Viral Disease and Influenza and to conduct the research in the respective areas.
Age Below 30 years. Relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per rules.
