IIT Roorkee invites applications for faculty positions at the levels of Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor (on contract). The institute intends to fill up around 120 positions through this advertisement in following Departments/Centers:

Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor

Biotechnology (Biochemical Engg)

Designations and pay structure:

(i)Assistant Professor : Minimum pay of Rs. 30000/- in Pay Band -3 (Rs. 15600-39100) with AGP Rs. 8000/-. On completion of 3 years service as Assistant Professor, shall move to Pay Band-4 (Rs. 37400-67000) with AGP of Rs. 9000/-

(ii) Assistant Professor ( on Contract) : Pay Band 3 (Rs. 15600-39100) with seven non (On contract) compounded advance increments (minimum starting pay of Rs. 20140/-) with AGP Rs. 6000/- .They will move after 1 year to AGP of Rs. 7000/- in PB-3.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Assistant Professor Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record and at least 3 years industrial/research/teaching experience, excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D.

2. Assistant Professor (On Contract) Candidates not satisfying eligibility requirement for direct recruitment as Assistant Professor may be put on tenure track as  Assistant Professor (on contract). Candidates should have Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
