Master of Science (MSc) in Industrial Biotechnology & Enterprise (IBE)
The innovative and collaborative MSc programme between Bath and St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, India, aims to fill the gap between biotechnology industry expectations and skills provided by the HE sector. It will combine research, entrepreneurial skills and an industrial placement experience in a biotechnology company. It is designed for high-achieving students who would like to pursue a career either in research or at the interface of biotechnology leadership and business.
The programme covers the latest advances in biotechnology and its commercial practice, together with business management and issues associated with bringing scientific advances to market. Students will also gain an international perspective of the sector during a 20-week internship placement in a biotech company in India. Eminent biotech entrepreneurs in both countries will be involved in programme delivery. The programme will include research and practical elements in the form of research projects, case studies and business planning activities. This programme has been funded by the UK-India Education & Research Initiative (UKIERI)- Collaborative Programme Delivery 2009, organised by the British Council, India.
