Project Educational : “Study of reproductive biology of the endangered taxa Trachycarpus takil Becc. (Arecaceae), Mohonia jaunsarensis Ahrendt (Berberidaceae), Pittosporum eriocarpum Royle (Pttosporaceae) and Eremostachys superba Royle ex Benth. (Labiatae)”

Qualification : Ist Class M.Sc. in Botany

Desirable: Experience in Plant Taxonomy

2. Field Assistant (One Post) (P.I. Dr. Veena Chandra) Botany Division

Project Educational : “Study of reproductive biology of the endangered taxa Trachycarpus takil Becc. (Arecaceae), Mohonia jaunsarensis Ahrendt (Berberidaceae), Pittosporum eriocarpum Royle (Pttosporaceae) and Eremostachys superba Royle ex Benth. (Labiatae)”

Qualification : B.Sc in Botany

3. SRF (One post) (P.I: Shashikar Samanta) Forest Informatics Division

Project Educational : “Development of Deodar and Kail information system” 

Qualification : Master in Computer Application/ Information Technology in Ist class with two years research experience

Desirable: Working of C,C++, FoxPro, SQL, Visual Basic, NET, PHP, JAVA, HTML, XML etc. and Data Base Management system, Training and experience of working on Remote sensing & GIS software.

Stipend and Tenure: Rs.12000/-p.m. for Sl.No.1, Rs.5000/- for Sl.No.2. & Rs.14000/- for Sl.No.3. Tenure will be initially for one year or upto project period whichever is earlier and may be extended as per ICFRE rules.


Age: Upper age limit is 28 years for Sl. No.1 and 32 years for Sl.No.3, which is relaxable upto 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically handicapped applicants.

General Condition: Award of the fellowship is governed by the Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education rules and does not have guarantee of subsequent employment in any Institute under the council. Application on the plain paper must be submitted to the Group Coordinator (Research) R.C.S., Forest Research Institute, P.O. New Forest Dehradun within 15 days of its publication ( Advertisement Date 24 January 2011).
