ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Founded in 1993, T.John College is an institution for higher education affiliated to Bangalore University and recognized by AICTE. The College is ISO 9001:2008 and NAAC certified, and has also implemented Rockefeller Habits as part of its commitment to provide ‘Quality Education With A Global Perspective’. It offers UG and PG courses in Computer Application, Business Management, Biosciences, Hotel Management, Fashion Designing and Journalism.
THE DEPARTMENT
The Biosciences department of T.John College runs B.Sc. and M.Sc. Biotechnology and M.Sc. Biochemistry courses affiliated to Bangalore University. The course is industry oriented, with emphasis on in-house and external projects, seminars, guest lectures and industrial visits. With the intention of making students more employable in the highly competitive job market, value-added courses in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Clinical Research and IPR are also provided to the students.
THE CONFERENCE
The conference is planned to coincide with the National Entrepreneurship Week of NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network). The theme of the conference is `Ideas for India’.
The conference aims to expose participants to entrepreneurship opportunities in various domains of biotechnology like microbial and enzyme technology, agri-technology and food technology, with a view to encourage technopreneurs in this field.

Invited talks by established entrepreneurs in the biotech industry, public sector organisations like NRDC, banks, and selected scientists who will be able to create an awareness of the potential for entrepreneurship in biotechnology

Oral/Poster presentation A 250-word concept note on any business idea related to Biotechnology can be submitted in MS Word format, alongwith the registration form.
