Applications are invited for the post of JRF to work in a project entitled ‘Development of chloroplast transformation system in sugarcane’ funded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India, New Delhi.

Junior Research Fellow:  

Essential qualifications – M.Sc. in Botany/Biotechnology/Agricultural Biotechnology from any reputed university. Preference will be given to those having experience in relevant area supported by thesis/research publications, NET/SET cleared. 

Candidate should be capable of construction of chloroplast vectors, development of tissue culture material for transformation, sugarcane transformation, development of transplastomics and their analysis by various molecular techniques. The successful candidate should be highly self-motivated, energetic, work efficiently, and have a keen interest in transgenic technology.

Salary: Rs 16,000 per month plus HRA as per Institute’s rules.

No. of posts: One.

Tenure of appointment: The duration of appointment will be initially for one year but extendable up to three years depending on performance and availability of funds. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
