Project Positions

Foundation for Ecological Security (www.fes.org.in) is looking for suitable candidates for Research positions in a project ‘Insect Inventorying in Deccan Forest and Farm Landscapes’. The study sites are in Kadiri watershed and Sadhukonda Reserve Forest in Andhra Pradesh. The laboratory work will be done through the Insect Taxonomy and Conservation Laboratory at ATREE, Bangalore.

The nature of the work includes field sampling, collections management, identification using  dichotomous keys, ecological data analysis and writing of research papers and reports.

Qualifications: A good aptitude to study insects and preferably a Master’s degree in Zoology/ Agriculture/Ecology/Forestry. Candidates with hands  on experience in identifying insects at least to family level are preferred.

The candidates must have effective interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in the field (support staff would be provided). He/she should be willing to work in demanding field conditions, as per the Project requirement.
