ELIGIBILITY

B.Sc (Botany /Zoology /Bio-chemistry /Microbiology /Biotechnology /Bioinformatics Pharmacy /Maths /Chemistry /Physics Degree with at least 50% of marks in major and allied subject both in theory & Practical  in all 3 years).

Establishment:

Mehsana urban  Institute of Biosciences is established with a mission to meet the educational need of the youth in the areas of professional studies and provide state-of-the art learning opportunities along with inculcation of values of commitment and uprightness.

The institute offers M. Sc. Programme approved by Ganpat University, which is ultimately approved by Education department of state of Gujarat and University Grants Commission. The admission to this institute is done purely based on the spot. The Institute is running five post graduate programmes viz.

Ø M. Sc. in Biotechnology,

Ø M. Sc. in Microbiology,

Ø M.Sc. in Biochemistry,

Ø M.Sc. in Geophysics 

The Department of Bioinformatics was started in the year 2008 to facilitate the teaching and research in the interdisciplinary areas of Structural Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics, and to create an intellectual environment for interdisciplinary education and training.

The Department is comprised of well experienced faculty members with research interests and expertise in Small and Macro Molecule X-ray Crystallography, Structural Biology, Molecular Modelling, Computer Aided Drug Design, Pharmacogenomics, Chemoinformatics, Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Genomics, Proteomics, Bio-computing, Database & Software development.
