I am not getting any idea how these CSIR people are giving ranks :X are there any rules in awarding the ranks ?
One girl got JRF 9th rank the marks were same 133.5 Some other people got JRF 56 rank with 102.5 marks
and in LS category 133 marks were 1st rank, which is equal to JRF 9th rank :)
Clearly there is some sort of mistake or any other thing like Age factor ? Regional basis ? etc
CSIR should definitely publish the reason behind this......
133 marks cutoff for LS is too high, i know how much hard work is needed to get 133 marks, i feel sad for those students not getting JRFs even though they are qualified.
yah great puzzling...helpbiotech...133 i think nt a cuttoff marks for LS coz in csir ugc website...in mark statements its given 43%is the cuttoff for LS...ND 133/200 ITS 66.5%..if i m nt wrong..
other reason for the same person with 133 getting LS could be that person has opted only for LS...but still CSIR should give more clarity about result issues and cut offs..
I think last time they fed with RTI acts for knowing marks
hence they decided to issues the marks too but very late ,it would be nice if they announce key too from next time onwards Hope they will give the key too after the exam
I got 80 marks on average when i compared the answer keys released by different coaching institutions, but my marks released by CSIR is 67. CSIR should release its answer key soon after the exam. They must also release our answer sheet and response collected by scanner, like how it is followed in the GATE examination this year.
Only 2000 students have Qualified CSIR UGC, inclusive of all 4 streams of Life SC, Physics, Chem and Atm Sc., and 2000 for LS., CSIR gives oppurtunity only to cream de la cream students. All other motivated students are left off. CSIR should increase the number of candidates eligible for fellowship, for the benefit of the students and our country's future Research development.
All students should also know their all India rank in CSIR exam like the Results declared in GATE examination.
133 can very much be the highest marks for LS as the person may have opted for LS only as he/she is over 28 years. This years cutoff of 43% for LS and 48% for jrf was very high indeed. I unfortunately scored 92.5/200 and got LS only. I really don't have any idea about how many life sc students have been awarded csir jrf and ugc jrf but I would really like to know. The main problem I have with the system is the reservation. I find it totally unfair for 38% being the cutoff for JRF for sc/st when the cutoff for LS for general candidates is 43%!!!
research and reservation both should not go simultaneously....!! or probably must not allowed...alas! that's the one reason why we are not on the list of researchers internationally...!or say very few out of 1.6 billion people.
reservation in the field of research provides opportunity to the poor people to understand the new technology & it helps their society to move with the wave of modernization. if there is no reservation for such people I guess we will lost the true people who could contribute to science with their innovative ideas.
People with true talent in science wont need any reservation to prove themselves. That is what I believe. and moreover there are many well to do families who have an SC certificate and are exploiting this advantage they have over the gen category
can any one tell how to apply for the RTI to get the answer key for the csir net 2011 dec question paper. because the more and more RTI queries improves the transparency of CSIR every year. now the only left out information is the Answer key. we have to write for it. guide me how to do it
U are right. but I guess you must have seen the number of institutes coaching for this exam, which most of the SC/ST candidates can not afford. so what about the open category students going to such coaching centres and qualifying the exam. Moreover U said people with true talent in science need not to have reservation, so I guess they " need not to have such facilities too"
I know this not the statement for each every candidate but believe me my friend poor people needs reservation to establish them selves in science and convey the knowledge to their society for their improvement.
hello friend I think, relaxation in age as well as fees for poor people or SC/ST in exam and institutes is okay but why their is difference in cut off marks bcoz if they are batchmates getting same knoweldge so y not same marks. Getting bad marks in exams is not due to poverty bcoz government giving relaxation in fees for their study. It is due to their knowledge. It is the responsibility of those getting gevernment facilities to get good marks in exam using their knowledge. So their should not be reservation in marks basis but relaxation in age as well as fees is fine.
you just mentioned the key word "poor"... yes I agree that poor people do need reservations but poor is not = sc/st/obc. There are many sc/st/obc families who are pretty rich and there are many open category families who are very poor. Reservation should be there for poor families only, below a certain annual income.
yes I agree. reservation should be for the poor, not for all. but In our country it is difficult to differentiate on the basis of income, as number of states, black & white money r the main problems according to me. In different states d income & poverty is different. moreover the poverty ratio is high in SC/ST people so government consider them to be the needy people for reservation.
and if we want to enable these people we have to provide them opportunity.
344727.... check the marks statement of this roll number.... 43.5%, surname is chakravarti which is a bramhin surname as far as I know.... yet the rank is CSIR 90. While I scored 46.5% and my rank is LS 29. IS THIS FAIR??
I qualified csir jrf dec 2011 with AIR 73.I applied as OBC candidate.but now csir has pointed out that i belong to Resident of backward area(RBA).which is not entitled to be OBC..but i want to remind you people that there is no reservation quota for OBC in the said exam...only benefit was 200 Rs form.. Kindly let me know will my candature as jrf will be rejected due to this or they(csir) will provide me the certificate...

ReplyDeleteI think mostly this could be the reason
ReplyDeletePeople who got the above said marks in LS are above age 28 as they are not eligible for JRF.
The person who got the marks should come out and clairfy.
Lets wait and see for others comments
other reason for the same person with 133 getting LS could be that person has opted only for LS...but still CSIR should give more clarity about result issues and cut offs..
ReplyDeletethere are candidates who opt for LS only... I think the first rank holder in LS might ve been opted for LS only..
ReplyDeleteIts very good approach for the transparency of the CSIR system.
ReplyDeleteIt could be one reason but i dont think so they opted only for LS
ReplyDeletesince JRF qualified people are also qualified for LS
Is there any possibility to revaluation?
ReplyDeletereally this is good job to publish marks it also help those who have not qualified........

ReplyDeletecan you tell me the minimum cut off for LS
ReplyDeleteAttention plz:
ReplyDeletewho has secured 133 mark as LS topper might not be eligible for JRF. He/She might have opted for LS category only.....
the cutoff is given in website and it is 43% for GEN/OBC and 33% for SC/ST category..
