Institute of Bioresearches and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal, a esearch institute under Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, invites applications from the suitable candidates for the following positions for its extramural research project funded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India & Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Application in prescribed format is available at the Institute’s website or from
the receptionist of the Institute. Duly fill in application may be submitted along with photo copies of attested certificate /testimonials in support of age and education qualifications with recent self attested passport size photograph of the candidates to the Director, IBSD, Takyelpat, Imphal during Office hour on or before 25th May, 2012. Only eligible / short listed candidates will be intimated for an interview before the selection committee. The selection procedure will be strictly
adhered to Govt. of India norms.

Screening of antimicrobial peptides & bio-active molecules from microbial diversity of forest ecosystem of NE India: A novel approach for development of antibiotics against multi-drug resistance pathagens.
Duration: 3 (three) years or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier.

Development of suitable formulation using indigenous strains of NE India for crops improvement : A combined holistic approach
Duration: 2(two) months or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier.
3. SRF -1(one)
Screening for extracellular protease activity from stock bacterial isolates of NE region of India.
Duration: 3 (three) years or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier.
4. Lab. Assistant-2
Creation of Fresh Water Cyanobacterial and Microalgal Repository at IBSD, Imphal, Manipur.
Duration: Upto 31st March, 2013 or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier.
5. JRF –1
Molecular Diversity of India freshwater and marine cynobacterial isolates from “Hot Spots” and their biotechnological potentials as Bio-surfactants,-flocculants
Duration: 3 (three) years or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier.
6. JRF-1 Lab. Assistant-1
Evaluation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and PGPRs from diverse ecosystem North East India for organic production of citrus & chili
Duration: 3 (three) years or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier.
7. Project Assistant –1 Data Entry Operator –1
Facilitation Centre on Medicinal Plants
Duration: 3 (three) years or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier.

Identification of location of specific ginger and turmeric varieties, quality planting materials production , post hervest management , chemical profiling and development of value added products of socio-economic development of North East Region – A Network Project.
Duration: Upto 31st March, 2013 or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier.
1. The above positions are purely temporary and co- terminus with the respective project. The selected candidates will not claim for regular appointment either to IBSD, Imphal, RCIBSD, Sikkim or DBT, New Delhi.
2. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

4. If a candidate finds that his / her qualification matches requirement of more than one position and wants to apply for more than one position, it should be clearly mentioned in the application form, for which positions applied.
5. On the front of the envelope , the name of the position applied should be clearly written.
6. Application must accompany degree certificate and marksheet which is essential for preliminary screening of application. Failure to enclose these documents with application will result in direct rejection of the application.
