WALK-IN-INTERVIEW
Eligible candidates are invited to attend the walk-in-interview on 13th June, 2012
between 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. for the temporary posts of Research Associates(RA), Senior Research Fellows(SRF) & Junior Research Fellows(JRF) along with their original certificates of educational qualifications to work under the ad-hoc research projects at Directorate of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.
2. ICAR (National Fund) project on “Molecular Basis of Insect-Plant interactions in rice”. Until September, 2012.
i.Research Associate (1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): Ph.D.in any branch of Life Science OR M.Sc., in any branch of Life Science with 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with at least two years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/Associateship/Training/other engagements.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in Plant Breeding/Entomology/Plant Biotechnology.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of 22,000/- p.m. plus HRA for M.Sc. Rs.23,000/-p.m. plus 30% HRA for submitted Ph.D/thesis & Rs.24,000/-p.m. plus HRA for Ph.D.degree holders.
ii.Junior Research Fellow(2 posts)
Essential Qualifications(EQ): M.Sc., in any branch of Life Science
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in Plant Breeding/Entomology/Plant Biotechnology.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.16,000/-p.m. plus 30% HRA.
3. Project on “System of Rice Intensification (SRI) Project” Duration: 1 year & extendable further.
i.Senior Research Fellow(1 post-Agronomy/Plant Breeding/Extension):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc or M.Sc (Ag) degree with specialization in Chemistry/Agronomy/Agril.Extension/Botany/Plant Breeding.
Desirable Qualifications:1-2 years experience as SRF in Agronomy/Soil Science/Plant Breding/Entomology/Pathology/Statistics. Research papers on related subjects. Experience in chemical analysis, data collection, interpretation and report writing.
Emoluments: Rs.18,000/-p.m. plus HRA
ii.Senior Research Fellow(1 post-Soil Science & Microbiology):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc or M.Sc (Ag) degree with specialization in Agril. Chemistry/Microbiology/Chemistry.
Desirable Qualifications: 1-2 years experience as SRF in Agronomy/Soil Science/Plant Breding/Entomology/Pathology/Statistics. Research papers on related subjects. Experience in chemical analysis, data collection, interpretation and report writing
Emoluments: Rs.18,000/-p.m. plus HRA
iii.Senior Research Fellow (1 post-Entomology/Pathology/Plant Breeding):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc or M.Sc (Ag) degree with specialization in Entomology/Pathology/Botany/Zoology
Desirable Qualifications: 1-2 years experience as SRF in Agronomy/Soil Science/Plant Breeding/Entomology/Pathology/Statistics. Research papers on related subjects. Experience in chemical analysis, data collection, interpretation and report writing
Emoluments: Rs.18,000/-p.m. plus HRA
4.DBT project entitled”Rice bio-fortification with enhanced iron and zinc in high yielding non-basmati cultivars through marker assisted breeding and transgenic approaches – Phase II”.
Duration: 1 year & extendable further.
i.Senior Research Fellow (1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ):M.Sc. or M.Sc.(Ag) degree with specialization in Plant Breeding/Genetics/Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant sciences/Life sciences/Botany. Minimum experience of one year in rice breeding/molecular markers.
Desirable Qualifications: 1-2 years research experience in crop genetics/breeding as evidenced by publications and/or reference letters. Work experience in rice biotechnology/breeding/genetics will be preferred.
Emoluments: Rs.18,000/-p.m. plus HRA
ii.Junior Research Fellow (1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ):M.Sc. or M.Sc.(Ag) degree with specialization in Plant Breeding/Genetics/Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant sciences/Life sciences/Botany.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience of rice breeding/molecular markers of rice will be preferred.
Emoluments: Rs.12,000/-p.m. plus HRA for first two years and Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus HRA for 3rd year.
5.DBT Network project on “Identification of candidate genes for enhanced water use efficiency in rice through activation tagging”. Duration: 1 year & extendable further.
i.Junior Research Fellow(1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ):M.Sc degree in Plant Biotechnology/ Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences/Plant Breeding & Genetics/Botany.
Desirable Qualifications: 3 years research experience in genetic engineering of plants with specialization in rice tissue culture, genetic transformation and molecular biology techniques desirable.
Emoluments: Rs.16,000/-p.m. plus 30% HRA for the first two years and Rs.18,000/-p.m. plus 30% HRA from third year onwards (for candidates with PG degree with NET qualified or PG degree in Professional Course with GATE) or Rs.12,000/-p.m. plus 30% HRA for the first two years and Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus 30% HRA for third year onwards.
6.DBT project on “Development of indica rice lines with Beta carotene rice endosperm through marker assisted gene introgression and their evaluation”.
Duration: up to 30.9.2012
i.Junior Research Fellow(1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc. degree in Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences/Plant Breeding & Genetics/Botany.
Desirable Qualifications: 2-3 years research experience in molecular marker assisted breeding of crop plans and working experience in techniques related to plant biotechnology are desirable.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.16,000/-p.m. plus HRA for the first two years and Rs.18,000/-p.m. plus HRA from third year onwards (for candidates with PG degree with NET qualified or PG Degree in Professional Course with GATE) Or Rs.12,000/-p.m. plus 30% HRA for first two years and Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus 30%
HRA for third year onwards (for PG degree candidates without NET/GATE qualification)
7.DBT Network project on “Functional analysis of gene regulatory networks during flower and seed development in rice”.
Duration: 1 year & extendable further.

i.Senior Research Fellow(1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc.(Ag) in Genetics & Plant Breeding/Plant Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Botany/Genetics from ay recognized universities with one year experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
a)Experience in conducting field experiments and knowledge on hybrid rice breeding,
b)Experience in use of molecular markers &
c)Knowledge of computer applications and skills.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus HRA for 1st, 2nd & 3rd years
Age: Below 35 years for men and 40 years for women for JRF & SRF and below 40 years for men and 45 years for women for RA as on 1.7.2012 (age relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC & 10 years for PH candidates available as per rule)
1. No Objection Certificate from the present employer is must if already working.
2. The above positions are purely temporary/contractual and are to co-terminus with the project.
3. There is no provision of re-employment after termination of the project.
4. No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate for attending the interview.
5. Canvassing in any form will lead to cancellation of candidature.
6. The decision of Project Director, DRR would be final and binding in all aspects.
7. The candidates must bring the original certificates and attested copies of educational qualifications,
age & caste at the time of interview for verification. No candidate will be allowed for interview without
original certificates.
