Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work in the research project funded by SERB, Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi, Govt. of India at the Department of iotechnology, Periyar University Salem, Tamil Nadu. The details of requirement are as given below:

Essential Qualifications
M.Sc.,/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Sciences/Zoology/Entomology/Molecular
biology/Life sciences with 55 % marks.
The candidate should have working knowledge in Insect and Molecular Biology Techniques, which shall be evident ONLY through dissertation work/ research publication. The incumbent will also be essentially required to travel different locations of Tamil Nadu for collecting samples periodically.
Emoluments
Rs.16, 000/- per month for the 1st & 2nd year and Rs. 18,000/-p.m from 3rd year
onwards.
Project Title “Molecular mechanisms underlying insecticide resistance among mosquito vectors Ae. aegypti, Cx.quinquefasciatus and An. stephensi”
Tenure & conditions of the project 3 years. The position is purely TEMPORARY. PI will have the exclusive right to terminate the Research fellow due to unsatisfactory performance without assigning any reason.
Selection procedure The eligible candidate may appear directly in a “Walk-in Interview” on 03/08/2012 at 11.00 am in Department of Biotechnology Periyar University, Salem-11. However, the candidates should submit their detailed Bio-data indicating Date of birth, educational qualification & distinction, publications (supported with reprints) and experiences along with a color passport size photo latest by 10.30 am of date of interview. In the application, candidates should indicate “Application for JRF”. Candidates should be required to furnish all the testimonials and certificates in original at the time of interview. It may please be noted that no TA/DA will be given.
