WALK-IN-INTERVIEW
Eligible candidates are invited to attend the walk-in-interview on 17th November, 2012 from 10.00 a.m. onwards followed by a written test on 16.11.2012 for the temporary positions of Research Associates (RA)/Senior Research Fellows(SRF)/Junior Research Fellows(JRF) along with their original certificates of educational qualifications etc., to work under the ad-hoc research projects at Directorate of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.
1. NAIP project on “Research into Development of Decision Support Systems for Insect Pests of Major Rice and Cotton based Cropping Systems”. Duration: Up to 31.03.2013.
(ii)Senior Research Fellow (1 post) :
Essential Qualifications(EQ): M.Sc (Entomology) or M.Sc (Zoology) with specialisation in Entomology.
Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of rice crop and pest forecasting models.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.16,000/-p.m. plus HRA.
2. DBT Project on “Establishment of National Database on Rice”. Duration : 1 year & further extendable
(i) Research Associate (1 Post) :
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc (Ag.) in Genetics & Plant Breeding/Plant Genetic Resources OR M.Sc in Botany/Genetics with 3 years experience.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in conducting field experiments, knowledge of statistical procedures, knowledge of computer applications and skills. Work involves field evaluation of 3000-4000 germplasm lines of rice and data recording and maintenance of data base for all the lines.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.22,000/-p.m. plus HRA
3. DBT Project on “Metabolic and molecular profiling of aromatic rice germplasm of India for gaining insights about aroma”. Duration : 1 year & further extendable
(i) Junior Research Fellow (1 Post) :
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc or M.Sc (Ag.) degree science with specialization in Plant Breeding/Genetics/Boitechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences/Life
Sciences.Desirable Qualifications : 1-2 years research experience in crop genetics/breeding as
evidenced by publications and /or reference letters. Work experience in rice
biotechnology/breeding/genetics will be preferred. Knowledge of computers is necessary.Emoluments: Rs.16,000/- plus HRA p.m.
4. ICAR Project on “National Initiative on Climate Resilent Agriculture”. Duration : 1 year & further extendable.
(i) Research Associate (1 Post) :
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D/M.Sc or M.Sc (Ag.) with 2 years experience and specialization in Plant Breeding/Genetics/Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences/Botany.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience of rice breeding/molecular markers/physiology of rice will be preferred
Emoluments : Consolidated pay of Rs.24,000/-p.m. plus HRA for Doctoral degree, Rs.23,000/-p.m. plus HRA for Masters degree.
(ii)Senior Research Fellow (1 post) :
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc.(Ag) in Soil Science/Agricultural Chemistry from a recognised University.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in Soil and plant analysis and conducting field experiments in rice. Experience in operating laboratory equipment. Knowledge of
computer operation and use. CSIR/NET qualified candidates will be given preference. In case of suitable Soil Science candidates are not available, plant sciences candidates will also be considered.Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.16,000/-p.m. plus HRA.
5. PPV&FRA Project on “DUS Tests in Rice”. Duration : 1 year & further extendable
(i). Senior Research Fellow (1 Post) :
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc in Botany/Genetics/ OR M.Sc in Agricultural Sciences with specialization in Genetics and Plant Breeding/Seed Technology/Plant Genetic Resources
Desirable Qualifications : Experience in conducting the field experiments of agricultural crops preferably cereals/characterization and documentation of germplasm, experience in data.
Emoluments : Consolidated pay of Rs.16,000/- p.m. plus HRA.
6. PLOMICS : DRR-CCMB Collaborative Project on ‘’Enhancing scope of marker assisted selection in rice’’ Duration : 1 year & further extendable
(i). Junior Research Fellow (Plant Biotechnology) (1 Post) :
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc in Agricultural Biotechnology/Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences.
Desirable Qualifications: 1-2 years research experience. .
Emoluments : Consolidated pay of Rs.16,000/- p.m. plus HRA.
(ii). Junior Research Fellow (Entomology) (1 Post) :
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc in Agricultural Entomology/Zoology/Life Sciences.
Desirable Qualifications: 1-2 years research experience in insect pests of agriculturally important crops will be preferred.
Emoluments : Consolidated pay of Rs.16,000/- p.m. plus HRA.
(iii). Junior Research Fellow (Plant Pathology) (1 Post) :
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc Plant Pathology/Microbiology/Life Sciences.
Desirable Qualifications: 1-2 years research experience in handling microorganisms will be preferred.
Emoluments : Consolidated pay of Rs.16,000/- p.m. plus HRA.
(iv). Junior Research Fellow (Plant Breeding) (1 Post) :
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc in Plant Breeding/Genetics/Plant Sciences
Desirable Qualifications: 1-2 years of research experience in plant breeding.
Emoluments : Consolidated pay of Rs.16,000/- p.m. plus HRA.
Age: Below 35 years for men and 40 years for women for JRF & SRF and below 40 years for men and 45 years for women for RA as on 1.7.2012 (age relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC & 10 years for PH candidates available as per rule)
1. No Objection Certificate from the present employer is must if already working.
2. The above positions are purely temporary/contractual and are to co-terminus with the project.
3. There is no provision of re-employment after termination of the project.
4. No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate for attending the interview.
5. Canvassing in any form will lead to cancellation of candidature.
6. The decision of Project Director, DRR would be final and binding in all aspects.
7. The candidates must bring the original certificates and attested copies of educational qualifications, age & caste at the time of interview for verification. No candidate will be allowed for interview without original certificates.
8. Relevant publications (a.) Experience certificate in original, if any. (b.) Latest passport size photo.
