Walk-in interview in a DBT sponsored project in Department of Microbiology
Interested eligible candidates are requested to appear before a selection committee on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 3PM at Dept. of Microbiology, University of Calcutta, 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata- 700019 to work as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the project entitled 'Regulation of genes involved in iron metabolism by small RNA (sRNA) in Burkholderia cepacia complex' funded by the Department of Biotechnology under the supervision of Dr. Sagarmoy Ghosh, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Microbiology. Tenure of the fellowship is coterminus with the project and emoluments will be as per the norms of Department of Science and Technology's O.M. no. A20020/11/97-IFD dated 31/03/2010 and also of this university.

Tenure: 1 year
Qualifications: M.Sc. in any discipline in life sciences with a minimum of 60% of marks and the candidates must have qualified NET/GATE.
Emoluments:
For NET (CSIR/UGC) candidates: Rs. 16,000 per month.
For NET-LS and GATE qualified candidates: Rs. 12,000 per month.
The fellow will not be entitled to any DA/TA/TC etc. However, House Rent allowance and the medical benefits will be as per University of Calcutta rules.
Age limit: Upper age limit is 28 years on 01/1112012, relaxable upto 5 years in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/women.
Candidates are requested to bring two sets of complete applications furnishing typed biodata on plain paper attached with attested copies of testimonials and all the originals of the testimonials at the time of the interview. No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the interview.
