Research Associate – Chickpea Breeding (1 position) & Crop Physiology (1 position)
ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the post of Research Associate – Chickpea Breeding (1 position) & Crop Physiology (1 position) to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support in conducting filed and laboratory/greenhouse experiments in chickpea breeding/Cereal Physiology.
- Collect and analyze experimental data and prepare technical report.
- Supervise field staff, guide field data collection and ensure data quality
- Assist scientists in the preparation of technical reports and research papers
- Work closely in team along with project partners
Competencies:
- Analytical skills and ability to conduct, monitor and evaluate experimental trials;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Proficiency in the use of various software applications.
Requirements:
- PhD in Plant Breeding and Genetics for position in Chickpea Breeding and PhD in Crop/Plant physiology for the position in Crop Physiology.
General: This position is a nationally recruited staff position under a DBT-funded project for three years and renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. The stipend will be as per DBT guidelines
