WALK-IN-INTERVIEW
It is proposed to fill up the contractual positions of Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow and Junior Research Fellow under the following projects. The eligible and desirous candidates fulfilling all the requirements are invited to appear before the Selection Committee for interview at V.P.K.A.S. (ICAR), Almora on 05.06.2013 at 10.00 AM
1. DBT funded project ‘ICAR Network Project on Transgenics in Crops (Maize)’.
Research Associate -1 post
Essential Qualification : M.Sc./ M.Sc.(Ag)/ M.Tech. with two years of experience /Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology.
Desirable : Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques used in gene mapping, MAS, transformation and cloning.
Emoluments : 23,000/- + HRA per month for Master Degree. 24,000/- + HRA per month for Ph.D. holders.
2. DBT funded project ‘Development of micronutrient en riched maize through molecular breeding Phase II’.
Research Associate - 2 posts
Essential Qualification : M.Sc./M.Sc.(Ag)/M.Tech. with two years of experience/ Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology.
Desirable :
1. Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques used in gene mapping, MAS, transformation and cloning.
2. Experience and knowledge of chemical analysis for grain micronutrients.Emoluments : 22,000/- + HRA per month.
3. DBT funded project ‘Rapid conversion on normal maize inbreds to quality protein maize and further enhancement of limiting a mino acids in elite inbreds through marker-assisted selection’.
Research Associate -1 post
Essential Qualification: M.Sc./M.Sc.(Ag)/M.Tech. with two years of experience/
Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology.Desirable : Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques used in gene mapping, MAS, transformation and cloning.
Emoluments : 22,000/- + HRA per month.
4. DBT funded project ‘Genetic enhancement of wheat and pyramiding rust resistance genes through molecular approaches northern hill of India (Network: Molecular marker assisted development of biotic stress resistant wheat varieties)’.
Senior Research Fellow -1 post
Essential Qualification : M.Sc./M.Sc.(Ag)/M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology.
Desirable : Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques used in gene mapping, MAS, transformation and cloning.
Emoluments : 14,000/- + HRA per month.
5. DBT funded project ‘Pyramiding multiple resistance genes using MAS for durable resistance against blast in the North West Himalayas’.
Junior Research Fellow -1 post
Essential Qualification : M.Sc./M.Sc.(Ag)/M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology.
Desirable : Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques used in gene mapping, MAS, transformation and cloning.
Emoluments : 12,000/- + HRA per month for 1st & 2 nd year
14,000/- + HRA per month for 3rd year
Age limit
For R.A. - The upper age limit is 40 years for men and 45 years for women on the date of interview (relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC as per GOI/ICAR norms)
For S.R.F. - The upper age limit is 35 years for men and 40 years for women on the date of interview (relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC as per GOI/ICAR norms)
For J.R.F. - The upper age limit is 30 years for men and 35 years for women on the date of interview (relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC as per GOI/ICAR norms)
Terms and Conditions:
1. The posts are on contractual basis and co-terminus with the projects.
2. The applicants must bring their bio-data (affixed with recent passport size photograph) along with original and photocopies of mark sheets and certificates of all examinations passed.
3. No T.A./D.A. will be paid to the candidates for at tending the interview.
4. The selection of candidates doesn’t entail on them any right for absorption/regularization at VPKAS (ICAR), Almora or any other sister concern including ICAR Headquarter.
5. The Director’s decision will be final and binding in all respects.
