Biocon Academy’s flagship program - The Biocon-KGI Certificate Program in Biosciences is a 'best-in-class' program that transforms graduate and post graduate students into professionals ready to take on the evolving challenges of the Biotech industry.

The transformation of the academic knowledge to industry skills requires development of application know-how and an in-depth understanding of technology and regulations. With a broad-based international curriculum encompassing R&D, Production as per GMP, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Product Development and Professional skills, the Biocon-KGI Certificate Program in Biosciences equips Biotech students with the necessary knowledge, skills and industrial trainings to make them employable in the industry.

The Biocon-KGI Certificate Program in Biosciences

This 16 week full-time Certificate Program, delivered by renowned Faculty from KGI and Biocon Academy, is designed to have classroom sessions that provide scientific background of the applications of Biotechnology as well as industry assignments and hands on trainings.

3 hours of KGI Lessons + 1 hour classroom assignments on daily basis

Biocon, Asia's leading biotechnology enterprise, has set up the Biocon Academy - a centre of excellence for advanced learning in applied biosciences with an aim to train and develop industry-ready talent for India's Biopharma sector and enable global competitiveness.

The academy, which was set up in collaboration with bioscience education institute Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) in California, will offer a 16-week full time certificate program for engineering and science graduates in biosciences, offering nine modules, including Molecular Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Development.

ALS 300: Molecular Biotechnology

ALS 333: Pharmaceutical Development

ALS 418: Biopharmaceutical Quality Assurance and Control

ALS 419: CMC Regulations of Pharmaceuticals

ALS 462: Introduction to US FDA and European Laws and Regulations

ALS 427A: Fermentation Principles - Module I

ALS 427B: Mammalian Cell Biotechnology - Module II

ALS 429: Bioseparation Engineering and Science

Professional Skills Development

Admission Details:

- Students can start applying (including online) for the program on 11 November, 2013.

- Last date for submission of application form is 6 December, 2013.

- Students can also apply online from the academy website.

- Eligibility: BE/B.Tech in Biotechnology / Industrial Biotechnology; MSc. in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biology; and B. Pharm with a CGPA of 7.5 (71 percentage).

- Fee Structure: ₹6 lakh (75% scholarship for meritorious students selected through an intensive selection process).

- First batch to commence on 10 January 2014.
