Introduction

Sanve Biosciences Research Centre (SBRC) is an autonomous centre pursuing human resource development activities in areas of Life Sciences, Bioinformatics and Information Technology.

The training aims to create awareness about legal rights among the students, young innovators and budding scientists about the importance of patent. There are many institutes spread across the country which train the students particularly in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and it would be definitely very beneficial if the students, faculties and the research scholars get a proper training so that they come to know about the different procedures and modalities to be followed and adapted while applying for patent of their innovation or invention. Successful management of intellectual property rights, such as copyright, database right, trademarks and patents, is fundamental for the faculty and research scholars in any academic institutions. Academic and Research Institutions are concerned with successfully managing projects and research initiatives and the protection of their IP Rights which will benefit all stake holders. It is also important for students, faculties, research scholars, scientists, authors and other creators working on projects to appreciate what is involved in establishing ownership, rights and interests in valuable own original material.

Objectives

The objectives of this programme are:

 To impart knowledge on various aspects of information on national and international IPR issues.
 To create IPR awareness among students, scientists, professionals, academicians, government officials, entrepreneurs and other members of the society.
 To train and develop qualified human resources in the area of IPR and patenting.

Theme

The training program will have the following thematic areas to be covered in six months.

All training materials will be sending by registered post or courier at your correspondence address in the first week of regular month.

1st theme: Overview of Intellectual Property Rights and its role in Research.
2nd theme: Own Property: Patents, Designs, Trademarks, Trade Secrets and Plant Varieties Protection.
3rd theme: Biotechnology research and Intellectual Property Management Systems.
4th theme: Access and Use of Patent Information and Patenting Process.
5th theme: Protection of own created property at the National Level and International Level.
6th theme: One day exam (MCQ) and distribution of training certificate in July second weak.

The training end examination will be conducted at Lucknow, New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Guwahati. Training examination shall be conducted at all centers, if sufficient candidates are enrolled from the above centers. The Candidates will have to choose the Test Cities for appearing in the examination and indicate their preference in the On-line Application form. No request for change of examination centre shall be entertained. However, SBRC reserves the right to cancel the preferred centre which is selected by the candidate, due to any
administrative reasons.

Who should attend?

The training programme is specifically designed for Graduate/Post graduate students, faculties and research scholars, project managers, team leaders, project professionals and staff involved in research projects. Technologists, inventors, authors and other creators will also get the benefit

Registration Fee and Mode of Remittance

 Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousands only) including bank charges, registration and examination fee.
 Fee should be submitted through bank chalan (download from SBRC website: www.sbrc.org.in) at State Bank of India or Central Bank of India.
 Fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.
 Candidates are advised to keep the receipt of remittance of fee (i.e. copy of Bank
Challan) with them for future reference.

How to Apply

Before starting to fill up the on-line application, the candidates should keep at hand the following details information:

 His/her higher educational qualification details.
 His/her personal details.
 His/her scan copy of bank chalan, passport size photograph and signature.

Candidates are required to apply On-line through SBRC website in English only. No other means/ mode of submission of applications will be accepted under any circumstances.

Candidates should have a valid personal e-mail ID. It should be kept active during the online application and all important communication will be sent on the same registered e-mail ID of candidate. The candidates are, therefore, requested to check regularly their e-mail for any communication from SBRC. Under no circumstances, the candidate should share e-mail ID or password to any other candidate / person.

Candidates should take utmost care to furnish the correct details while filling in on-line application. Any mistake committed by the candidate shall be his/her sole responsibility. Once the application is submitted, no change / edit will be allowed, thereafter.

Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. Application shall not be accepted through any other mode No documents/certificates and application forms are required to be sent to SBRC by post.
