NIRRH Workshop on Application of Bioinformatics in Biomedical Research | 28-30 January 2014

The ICMR-Biomedical Informatics Center, NIRRH is organising a 3-day workshop (28th -30th January, 2014) on Application of Bioinformatics in Biomedical Research.

The workshop focuses on providing training on basic concepts in Bioinformatics. The mode of training would be through lectures followed by hands-on sessions. The topics covered in the workshop are as follows:

• Overview of Bioinformatics
• Databases(Sequence, SNP, OMIM etc.)
• Sequence Analysis ( Homolog search, Primer design)
• Protein structures: Visualization and analysis

The eligibility criterion for applicants is a post graduate degree in life sciences/ MBBS.Preference will be given to candidates pursuing Ph.D or working as a junior faculty in government funded academic or research organizations. The last date for receipt of applications is 14thJanuary, 2014. A maximum of 20 candidates will be selected.

The selected candidates will be intimated by email on 17thJanuary, 2014. The selected candidates should bring a proof of identity (photo ID) and recommendation letter from the Head of their institution for the workshop.

The workshop is being fully supported by Indian Council of Medical Research. There is no course fee. The selected candidates will, however, have to make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation.
