Chilika Development Authority and School of Biotechnology KIIT University Bhubaneswar invites applications for a junior research fellow position in a collaborative DBT funded project to study microbial communities and plant-microbe interactions in mining-impacted sites of Odisha. This project will use modern high-throughput DNA sequencing, high-resolution tools of analytical chemistry, and state of the art techniques in molecular biology and microbiology.
Duration of the project 3 years
Fellowship Rs. 12,000 +HRA as applicable.
Essential Qualification M.Sc. Biotechnology/Microbiology with minimum 60% marks. Candidates who are expecting to get their qualifying degree by July 2014 are also eligible to apply.
Upper age limit 28 years.
Desirable experience Prior laboratory experience in the area of microbial ecology, DNA sequence analysis and use of phylogenetic software.
Responsibilities Candidate will be stationed at the School of Biotechnology KIIT University Bhubaneswar. Selected candidate should be self motivated and willing to travel to remote field sites to carry out sampling and data collection. Candidate will be responsible to carry out specific objectives as defined in the project and submit periodic reports on it
