Applications from Indian nationals are invited for one Project Fellow to work on a plant biology project "Exploring the role of splice variant of CONSTANS, the key regulator of photoperiodic flowering time control in Arabidopsis" funded by DBT, in the School of Biological Sciences, NISER.

The work involves combination of molecular genetics cloning, qRT PCR, biochemistry and microscopy to understand the fundamental importance of the splice variant of CONSTANS in controlling the photoperiodic flowering. The work involves to understand the Diurnal and Circadian oscillation of transcripts in different light regimes in one hour resolution in 24 and 48 hrs light dark cycle, therefore the selected candidates are expected to meet the demand of this circadian research and expected to be highly motivated.

PROJECT FELLOW-I:

QUALIFICATION: M.Sc. (minimum 55% marks) in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Zoology/Botany/Biochemistry/Molecular Biology/Physiology/ or any other similar stream in Biosciences. Candidates with a good track record with over all CGPA above 7.5 and in ther final year of MSc, receiving their grades by the date of Interview, can also apply. It is desirable that the candidate has already got some hand-on training in handling, molecular biology and biochemistry problems.
