In continuation of the Notification referred to above applications are invited for admission to the following academic programmes offered in International and Inter University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Mahatma Gandhi University for
the academic year 2014-2015.

M.S. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

M. Sc. in any area of Science or B Tech/BE in any discipline in Technology/ Engineering with 50% marks.

4 Semesters

Integrated M. Sc. Ph. D. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

B. Sc. in any area of Science with 50% marks.

5 years including 2 years’ Master’s Degree

M Phil in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

M. Sc. in any discipline with 50% marks.

2 Semesters

Those candidates who have already registered online through CAT-MGU for the above programmes need not apply again.

Bonus marks for (a) for participation in in NCC/NSS (b) for Ex- Servicemen applicants and widows and children of Jawans / Ex-Servicemen will be given as per the existing rules of admission. Reservation for candidates with outstanding records in sports and games shall be allowed as per rules. 3%of the seats under Merit quota are reserved for physically challenged candidates.

How and When to apply :

Application forms can be downloaded from the website of the Mahatma Gandhi University www.mgu.ac.in. Registration fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs.250/-for SC/ST candidates)
shall be remitted at the cash counter of the University or at FRIENDS JANASEVANAKENDRAM or or by way of M.G.University Chalan from State Bank of Travancore. Application fee can also be remitted by way of DD drawn in favour of the Finance officer, Mahatma Gandhi University payable at SBT, M.G University Campus Branch (code No. 669). Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

The candidates are required to send applications to the Director, International and Inter University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Mahatma Gandhi University, Priyadarsini Hills PO, Kottayam 686560.

A self- addressed stamped envelope shall be enclosed along with the application.

The last date for receipt of filled in application is 22nd July 2014.

Mode of selection

M.S., and Integrated M Sc, PhD: Admission to the programme will be based on an entrance test which is mandatory for all candidates. The selection will be based on the
marks obtained in the Entrance Test and bonus points. Entrance Test will be of 2 hours duration; one hour test for assessing basic eligibility comprising questions from +2 level
Science subjects, and one hour test for assessing in-depth knowledge of the candidates in their specialized subject.

M. Phil: Admission to the programme will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination, Entrance Test and Interview in the proportion 100:40:20.
